Item Description
Designed in collaboration with New York-based design practice Snarkitecture and made in Stoke-on-Trent, the concept behind 1882 Ltd.'s Positive & Negative vases is to reveal aspects of the technical process used to create fine bone china.
Part of a series of two vases, the Positive vase reflects the simple geometry of a cylindrical vase and plays on the fragility and solidity of fine bone china. An irregular textured pattern is hand carved on vase's biscuit-finish body, playing on the idea of a broken vase while contrasting with the smooth cylindrical surface of the piece.
Occupying the space between design and art, this sculptural piece will complement a wide range of interior schemes.
