Item Description
This piece from Momoka Gomi's Recollection series is inspired by the designer's fascination with memory and how our perceptions shift when we look back in time. The artworks evolve during the weaving process so the outcomes are always unique and unpredictable.
Strips of fabric combine to create ambiguous patterns that may evoke personal memories for the viewer. This wall panel features a grid-like pattern reminiscent of lights shining out from the buildings of Tokyo where Momoka grew up. Each piece is hand woven using a mechanical loom at the designer’s studio in Nottingham.
