Item Description
Tom Palmer works in the space between the fine and decorative arts, combining ancient and contemporary materials and techniques. The sculptural Parabolic bench uses a unique casting process that allows parabolic voids and curves to be formed through solid blocks of material, in this case polyurethane sprayed with black automotive car paint. A combination of computer-controlled machining and hand finishing results in smooth forms accentuated by their highly lacquered surfaces.
Due to the handmade nature of this piece, variations in colour and pattern may occur from the piece you see displayed on site.
