Honouring the Japanese art of kintsugi, Broken Things combines photography of discarded ceramic objects with delicate stitching in gold thread.

Livia Marin's mixed-media artwork uses Giclée printing on cotton paper, where fragments of photographs are meticulously reconnected through delicate gold thread stitching.

The 'Broken Things' series draws inspiration from Kintsugi, the ancient Japanese art of restoring ceramics using gold lacquer. The artworks explore themes such as imperfection, waste, and consumerism.

Each mixed-media piece is displayed within ash frames fitted with low-reflective glass.
