KIRA
Drawing has been a lifelong passion since my childhood. Architecture became my medium to ground these drawings in reality and time. My goal is to convey enduring messages that withstand the test of time, striving to create a sense of familiarity through lines, materials, and colours that evoke genuine emotions.
Roman Akira Frankel has made significant contributions to global projects, notably Sou Fujimoto Architects in Tokyo. His commitment to sustainability is evident through his handcrafted furniture, made from recycled materials at Galaktik Architecture. For Kira, light emerges as a transformative force. Illustrated in the Toshiro lamp, defined by lacquered ears, a narrative unfolds where colours and lines dance upon illumination. Influenced by Japanese author Jun’ichirō Tanizaki, Kira adeptly balances form and function, echoing the precision seen in Japanese ceramics. Every piece pays homage to the designer's grandparents, Toshiro and Yoshiko. Expect meticulous forms that encapsulate personal emotion and sentiment.
