Studio Zeina Bacardi
"I like to see a little piece of myself in each object I create, reflecting the intrinsic union between what I am and what I conceive."
Zeina Bacardi Sakr launched Studio Zeina Bacardi in 2016 after graduating from the American University of Beirut, where she received the M&C Saatchi MENA Award for academic excellence in Fine Arts and Art History. A self-taught ceramicist with a deep-rooted affinity for clay, her work is shaped by a desire to give form to overlooked or forgotten elements of daily life. Her practice explores storytelling through subtle gestures and castaway objects, reflecting a quiet emotional resonance.
Working primarily in porcelain and stoneware, Zeina pushes the boundaries of traditional ceramic form. Her practice is defined by a balance of sculptural experimentation and functional design - particularly through her work in tableware, which she seeks to revive from the mundanity of mass production. Each object is created with intention, where tactile form meets essential function. From delicate vessels to lighting and modular ceramics, Zeina’s work invites sensory connection and reflection. Her practice, rooted in Beirut, is a dialogue between past and present, material and maker, tradition and reinvention.
