We have united the know-how of carpet weaving originated in the Orient, where we were born, with the refined Occidental Interiors where we live, to serve the global interior design industry with our exclusive handmade rug collections.
Generations of the Sahrai family have travelled to the Middle Eastern and Asian carpet-making centres to learn everything about the latest tools, techniques and materials. Current owners Rana and Ramine Sahrai have developed new contemporary collections and expanded the business globally but traditional Persian hand-knotting techniques remain at the core of the Sahrai aesthetic.
As well as its team of in-house designers, Sahrai Milano collaborates with renowned architects, artists and designers, such as Carlo Colombo and Marcel Wanders. The result is a collection of beautiful and unique rugs that blend the carpet-making traditions of the ancient Middle East with a modern design ethos. Sahrai Milano works with skilled artisans in different rug-making centres across the world. Using carefully sourced materials, including New Zealand wool and natural silk, every element of each rug's design and development process is constantly reviewed to ensure that its high standard of quality is maintained.
