L’Eccesso

Furniture designer

Rome, Italy

The brainchild of Paolo Ciacci, L’Eccesso salvages discarded slabs of natural stone from excessive stock, transforming them into unique and unrepeatable raw materials to form contemporary, considered and responsible furniture.

L’Eccesso

‘L’Eccesso restores the value and dignity of natural stone which is almost always in excess after any project. We want to lead the restoration movement by not wasting existing materials, rather recognising their beauty by reimagining them into new shapes - which in turn, inspires great creativity.’

With over 14 years of experience, Paolo Ciacci is a graduate of Industrial Design and Visual Communication and Industrial and Product Design from Sapienza Università di Roma. He is the visionary founder of Design Interiore, serves as the Creative Director at Estro Collezioni, and is also the co-founder of Stone Stackers.

Stone processing demands meticulous control over every stage: cutting, surface refining, assembly, cleaning, and packaging. L’Eccesso pursues the finest technologies for precision, utilising bridge saws, water jets, numerical control centres, and edge polishers. Skilled artisans merge their expertise with industrial methods, ensuring thorough assembly, cleaning, and testing. Premium sealers are applied, including antacid, stain-resistant, water, and oil repellent treatments.
