For over 21 years, our sole focus has been to empower our growing community of artisans and designers by embroidering directly on cashmere, and create wearable pieces of art.
Jyotika Jhalani established Janavi India in 1998 with a vision to create cashmere accessories that celebrated Indian culture and craftsmanship. What began as a small enterprise operating out of a bedroom studio has grown into a luxury lifestyle brand available in over 200 influential retailers across the globe including Bergdorf and Harrods.
Indian craftsmanship is at the heart of the Janavi India brand. Its community of over 400 craftspeople are based in two state-of-the-art factories in Noida, India, and supported by units in Kashmir and Nepal. Jyotika Jhalani, known in the industry as the cashmere alchemist, carefully sources her luxury yarns and fibres from Ladakh, Mongolia, China and Nepal. Each Janavi India piece is treated as a work of art that tells its own unique story. Soft woven wool and cashmere serve as a canvas for designs featuring mythical beings, talismans, flora and fauna, which are hand and machine embroidered using a mood board or “paint box"" of 21 colours.
