Beverly Morrison
"My work is a dialogue between maker and matter - where movement, imperfection, and presence are captured in a single sculptural breath."
Beverly Morrison’s creative journey began in childhood, shaped by a home that valued observation and making. After earning a BA in Studio Arts from California State University, Long Beach, she studied with artists including Peter King and Stan Bitters. Though she found clay later, it quickly became her core medium - allowing her to express rhythm and energy through form. Often described as “Modern Day Relics,” her sculptural works evoke movement and stillness, and have been featured in LUXE Interiors + Design, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, and the Pasadena Showcase House.
Morrison’s process is intuitive and tactile, shaped by a dialogue with clay. She formulates her own clay bodies and embraces imperfection, rhythm, and raw surface. Influenced by sculptors like Rodin, Hepworth, and Bernini, she creates works that explore presence, transformation, and material truth. Her “sculptural dance” emphasizes gesture over perfection. She is a member of ArtAxis, the Female Design Council, and the Women’s Caucus for Art, and has taught at Craft Contemporary and Blue Roof Studios in Los Angeles.
