I work with our master engraver who interprets my vision into a range of techniques. Originally, we only worked with engraving. Now we explore a lot of other practices, like painting, cutting and sandblasting. These give our work a very creative quality.
A Fine Art Photography major at Bard College, New York, Feldman moved to Prague in 1994 and launched Artěl three years later. Today, Artěl’s multi-award-winning designs grace the shelves of celebrity collectors and museums around the world.
Each crystal glass and vase is painstakingly handcrafted by a team of highly skilled Czech artisans using only traditional production methods, such as glass blowing, cutting, painting, engraving, sandblasting and gilding. Decorative techniques are practised entirely by hand, with each artisan using mere markings to produce intricately detailed patterns and designs. Given the slight irregularities of mouth-blown crystal, motifs must be individually adjusted for every piece, meaning that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
