Anastasya Martynova
I enjoy a degree of curiosity. I want to explore subjects fully. It’s very exciting when results emerge from collaborations across different disciplines. It’s important to step out of your usual thinking and embrace different perspectives.
With a background in set design and art direction at the BBC, Anastasya completed the Historic Carving course at City and Guilds of London Art School. She is a member of the Michelangelo Foundation/Homo Faber, Crafts Council Directory and Heritage Crafts Association.
Through experimental practice, Anastasya has developed an intricate craft discipline, which directly informs each piece. She endeavours to use sustainable materials where possible and has recently partnered with Onetreeplanted, a charity that replenishes much-needed natural resources. Aside from her own practice in London, Martynova is also a maker and craft expert at MUSEEA, an award-winning design and curation studio based in Stockholm that creates large scale immersive environments and exhibition designs that are showcased worldwide.
