Louise Heighes crafts her handmade leather artworks at her studio in Margate, England. Building on her fashion background, she cuts, weaves and folds the material into 3D shapes to create unique art pieces for the interior design market.

This piece epitomises Louise’s fascination with the flow and movement she sees in nature. Using the same simple shapes as her feather-based artworks, the design consists of undulating lines that evoke rippling water. Louise cuts the top sheet of leather and carefully pushes pieces from underneath through to create the dynamic and textured surface. The inclusion of grey and silver leather adds an eye-catching detail to this evocative artwork.
