Designer Max Lamb's crockery pieces for 1882 Ltd. use an innovative process to achieve their rugged and characterful appearance.

To start, Max creates the vase's shape from a solid block of plaster using a hammer and chisel. This form is used for a three-part hollow mould that allows each limited-edition piece to be slip-cast in fine bone china. Expert potters in Stoke-On-Trent then use all their strength and skill to cast and carefully fire the Big Vase.

This statement vessel features a glazed interior and a natural bisque exterior that emphasises its raw, hand-carved texture.
