Killa Big Standing Mirror
Designed by the late French designer Pauline Deltour, the Killa standing mirror features a basket-like frame, handwoven with fibres of the Iraca palm. Its design was inspired by Deltour's visit to the weaving workshops in Colombia that Ames works with.
Iraca fibres obtained from the stalks of the Iraca leaves are shredded, boiled, rinsed and bleached. After being coloured using natural dyes obtained from seeds, leaves, nuts and roots, the fibres are dried for several days before being woven by hand around the tubular steel mirror frame using tweezers, needles and tongs to create different patterns.
Killa makes an eye-catching addition to the bedroom when placed on a sideboard, chest of drawers or dressing table.
